St Andrews Bellringers:

PLEASE RING BEFORE HAND IF ARE COMING TO PRACTICE NIGHT.

Six bells were installed in 2002 which came from St Mary and St Nicholas Church in Wilton, Wiltshire, UK being the current back 6 bells.  Two new bells cast by Whitechapel Bell Foundry in 2003 were dedicated in 2004 making a ring of 8 bells tuned to the key of B flat.  The back 6 bells were cast in 1831 and 1832 and now hang in their 3rd tower.  The bells are rung full circle in the English change-ringing style.

Practice is every Wednesday night 5:30pm to 7:30pm and Friday 5:30pm to 6:30pm (advance practice)

We ring every Sunday morning between the two church services approx. 8:40am to 9:30am.

We are also available to ring at weddings (fee charged) and if anybody has a special reason eg Wedding Anniversary or significant event/ birthday we can be available

Most Sunday mornings we ring a special performance known as a quarter peal.  Details of performances by the bellringers for 2021 are found at Ringing World BellBoard

Everybody is welcome to come and learn to ring the bells and serve the Parish in this activity of sounding out the good news of the Church. So come and see what a great activity it is to add to the rich musical tradition of St Andrews.
